How do we face the hard times and keep going?

From Anita’s “GOD” file – written February 22, 2009

How do we face the hard times and keep going?

2 Corinthians Chapter 12, 7th verse

Because of this surpassing greatness of the revelations, for this reason, to keep me from exalting myself, thorn in the flesh – prayed the Lord that it might leave me, and He has said to me “my grace is sufficient for you for power is perfected in weakness”

In order for us to be obedient to God, there will be times when those we love the most will not understand when we say I know that this is the will of God for my life and I must walk in it.

Satan says –

1. Focus on your feeling of helplessness
2. Focus on your feelings – how do you feel? How is this affecting you?3. Point in the direction of the world, unbeliever – how they think how they feel. Listen to the advice of the world.
4. Think about future consequences and paint pretty picture of how things can be if you choose to follow Satan

world says — Culture we live in: “this world”

1. God is not interested in your minor affairs
2. Get out of it the easiest and quickest way

self – our naturalness – the flesh

God understands why we respond the way we do.

Why do we have a tendency to give up and quit and to walk away and/or look for ease, quickest, easiest way –

Focus in on the problem rather than on God

When we get our focus on the problem rather than on God we have taken a pathway that only leads downward with more discouragement

We begin to doubt that God loves us when hard times come, so then we think He won’t change our circumstances

If you walk away not because God told you but because of some other reason, you are walking to more trouble

If we don’t respond correctly, we turn an awesome opportunity into a terrible pit of despair

Isaiah 44:4 – God acts in behalf of those who wait for Him.

Stay there until God moves it – don’t try to move it yourself.

My grace is sufficient – adequate, complete, satisfying, overflowing, and abundant for you so that in those weakest moments you’ll be overwhelmed by the power and grace and goodness of the Almighty God. There’s no way to lose trusting Him.

At the end she wrote in pencil: WAIT for the Lord Psalm 27:14
